Description

I hope that someday I find the motivation for either backgrounds or a decent reference sheet. Until then have these half assed backgrounds, yay.
But I had a ton of fun with this one, especially the outlining was so much fun. I tried working with bigger resolutions (over 5000px side length), so that the outlines look thinner. I think it looks nice, I will do more of that in the future.
(His legs look a little bit too long but that's because he's tiptoed)

You may know the Artifex from an earlier picture ( www.furaffinity.net/view/22466… ).

Every Artifex looks different, their armor is part of their body and was build especially for one individual. What they all have in common is the fact that you can never really see their face and that the only parts that aren't covered with clothing are their claws. Nobody really knows how their face looks like, but their hand and feet anatomy looks like the one of the Tames, their creators, so maybe they look similar. There are also no female Artifex.
The loyal Artifex are nothing more than biological machines, trained to serve the commands of their creators, but some of the Artifex who cut these ties are actually trying to learn things like social behaviour and these creepy little things named feelings, with variable success.

The archs on his arms are some kind of Tesla coils and can be used to discharge high voltage arcs to overload shields and hurt people.

This Artifex is named Ares and he's part of a crew I'm putting together for funsies and to put all the small ideas I have for this in characters.

I know it's stupid to even say it but I once played a white armored Zero that he reminds me a bit of, down to the little thinger on top of the head.
I was planning on doing something vaguely similar with the concept of Tulpas that are used for menial household tasks in my world (mostly robed and masked, like living furniture) but I can change the concept around a bit so it doesn't bump.
Okay, sorry for the lame comment, because actually I find this pretty darn awesome. I like the lineart a lot. Thin outlines are something I almost fetishize and hope to reach some day, perhaps I can learn Krita or something. And yay for shooty dual staves, love me some of these, too, they just look imposing.
Keep em cominggggg!
